Bike Fitting

Precision bike fitting for performance & comfort.

Experience the difference with an On Form Physio bike fit.

A bike fit at On Form brings physiotherapy knowledge of human biomechanics together with cycling performance mechanics — producing a customised position that balances power, comfort and injury risk reduction. A physiotherapist's understanding of how individual riders' bodies move and the asymmetries that are normal between riders is what separates this from fitting technology alone, which tends to apply the same formulas and rules regardless of the individual in front of it.

Personalised Positioning

Adjustments tailored to your body, aimed at improving comfort and pedalling efficiency on the bike.

Injury-Risk Focused

Proper alignment and positioning, aimed at reducing the risk of common cycling injuries.

Slow-Motion Video Technology

Frame-by-frame 2D video analysis used at every consultation to capture exactly what's happening on the bike.

Bike fitting at On Form brings together physiotherapy knowledge of human biomechanics with cycling performance mechanics, informed by current sports science research, to produce a customised position that balances force production, injury risk reduction and comfort.

That biomechanical knowledge is what a physiotherapist brings to a bike fit that fitting technology alone can't. Used on its own, fitting technology tends toward a one-size-fits-all position based on generic formulas — without accounting for the imbalances and asymmetries every individual rider has.

Our Bike Fit Philosophy

Five principles behind every fit.

Individual

No two riders are physically the same, and goals differ rider to rider — your fit reflects both.

Comfortable

An individually ideal position helps support pedalling efficiency and fatigue resistance.

Biomechanical

Reducing excessive load and pressure on at-risk areas of the body, to reduce the risk of pain and injury over time.

Powerful

A more optimal position is aimed at helping you generate and sustain power more effectively.

Enjoyable

If your body is holding you back during or after a ride, something about your current position needs attention.

Bike Fit FAQs

A few common questions.

Allow around 100 minutes for your consultation, covering the screening, on-bike assessment, adjustments and your report.
Yes — your fit is performed on your own bike, so the position and adjustments are specific to that setup. Make sure it’s clean and in good working order before your appointment.
Yes, please bring your cleats along — your shoe and cleat position is part of the assessment.
Yes — our bike fit philosophy covers triathlon and TT setups across short course, Olympic distance, and Ironman (half and full distance), alongside road, mountain and gravel bikes.
A physiotherapist brings additional training in human biomechanics — how your specific body moves, and where your individual imbalances or asymmetries are — alongside the fitting technology itself, rather than relying on fitting technology and generic formulas alone.
This varies rider to rider — some adjustments feel different immediately, while others take a few rides to adjust to. Your follow-up session 6–8 weeks later is built in specifically to review how the position is working for you and refine it further.
There’s no fixed schedule — it generally comes down to your bike, body and goals. Worth considering a refit if you change bikes or key components (saddle, pedals, shoes), start training for a new event, or notice new discomfort that wasn’t there before.
Yes — let us know about any current injury when you book, so it can be factored into your assessment alongside your riding position.
Many private health extras policies cover physiotherapy consultations, so a bike fit performed by a physiotherapist may be claimable depending on your level of cover — it’s worth checking directly with your health fund.
No referral is needed — you can book a bike fit directly.
