Precision Bike Fitting for Performance & Comfort
Experience the difference with an On Form Physio
Bike fit.
The Bike Fit services offered at On Form Physiotherapy bring together the innate knowledge of performance biomechanics of the human body and knowledge of performance cycling mechanics. All delivered through an understanding of the best current available scientific literature to produce a customised cycling position that balances force production, injury risk reduction and comfort.
This detailed knowledge of how the human body moves and interacts with a bike is only something that can be integrated into a bike fit by trained health professionals like physiotherapists. This expertise harnesses the power of modern-day fitting technology, and integrate the imbalances and asymmetries that are normal for an individual riders to experience in order to provide the best possible fitting outcome. Without this understanding of biomechanics, fitting technology will produce a one-size-fits-all position using formulas and rules that isn’t supported by the most up-to-date sports science research.
Our Bike Fit philosophy.
At On Form Physio we work on the following five principles when conducting our Bike Fit assessments:
Individual: As highly trained physiotherapists, we understand that no two riders are the same physically. Individuals also have a varying range of goals and aspirations as to what they are wanting to get out of their sport.
Comfortable: Being positioned in the ideal position individual for each rider helps to increase pedalling efficiency and fatigue resistance.
Biomechanical: Reducing excessive loads and pressure on particular areas of the body most at risk in cycling to reduce risk of pain and injury, longevity in the sport and the impact rising has on the rest of your everyday life.
Powerful: Being positioned in the most optimal way can and will increase a riders ability to generate the most power for the longest period possible.
Enjoyable: If you’re not having fun because your body is holding you back during or after a ride, then something is very wrong with your current position.
